The Google My Business tool has given business owners a great way to manage their online presence for years now, and while it has gone through several changes over this time, Google has one last adjustment in store for the application. There will no longer be a Google My Business service; rather, business owners will have access to a web-based Google Business Profile at some point in 2022.
Google Business Profile is Intended to Simplify Things for Businesses
This transition will make it easier than ever for businesses to use these online tools. All they need to do is enter their company’s name into the Google Search Box. By doing this, you’ll get results that you might normally see from the business tools that Google provides.
Once your Google Business Profile is in place, you’ll be able to manage your online presence. You can do the following:
- Google Search and Google Maps will be usable as a means of verifying your Google Business Profile.
- Google Search can also be used to chat with customers through your Business Profile, with read receipts being controlled through Search and Maps.
- Google is also experimenting with call history features and call forwarding.
This also makes online marketing activities easier to pull off, especially those performed through Google. For example, you might use the local search campaign budget Performance Planner.
What Features are You Looking Forward to the Most?
This kind of rebranding and shifting of services might take some time to take off, but it’s a good idea to become familiar with it now so that you can jump right into them when they are finally ready.
